A clean-up drive was conducted in the mangroves of Chimbai Beach, Bandra. The mangroves are frequently neglected, with waste entangled in the vegetation. In two hours, 14 volunteers from DBS bank, led by our team member Chanikya, collected 52 kilograms of non-biodegradable waste. The waste was disposed and given to municipal authorities.
We implemented an employee engagement program for Goodera in which Ernst and Young's employees participated. In a span of two hours, 86 employee volunteers collected 470kgs of garbage and non-biodegradable waste (plastics, glass, etc.)
We also conducted a beach cleanup at Chimbai Beach, Bandra for Goodera as part of the Earth Day celebrations. DBS Bank employees who participate in the employee volunteering programme joined us. There were a total of 26 volunteers present. A marine walk was conducted during which the volunteers were briefed on the marine life at Chimbai beach, followed by a beach cleanup during which the volunteers collected trash from the beach and surrounding mangroves.
At Chimbai Beach in Bandra, we held a marine walk and a clean-up exercise. Morgan Stanly had 54 corporate employees participate in this event. The volunteers worked tirelessly to clean up the beach while also learning about the local marine life.
