Step 2: Lay the plastic bottle on its side, horizontally, then cut out part of the side.

Step 3: Paint them or cover them with tiny craft flowers and hang them wherever your little bird friends may visit.

If you live in an area that has many birds, a strategically placed DIY recycled bird feeder will allow you to view the pretty feathered creatures up close and personal. Taking just a little time and very little money, you can make one out of materials you might have otherwise thrown away – a plastic bottle and a couple of wooden spoons.

 How to make it:

Step 1: Choose plastic bottles that are thick and durable, such as soft drink bottles.

Step 2: Cut out part of the side.

Step 3: Paint them or cover them with tiny craft flowers and hang them wherever your little bird friends may visit.

Step 3: To hang the bottles, you’ll need to then cut out four small holes, two on each side. They should line up with each other.

5th October 2019: Plastic Bottle Drip Irrigator

Drip irrigation delivers moisture directly to plant roots without over-saturating the soil, which helps the plants root deeper and grow healthier since they don’t experience moisture stress. Grab some 2 liter plastic bottles, punch two holes into the caps, and hang or plant the bottles next to the plants.

How to make:

Step 1: To make it simply take a soda or cold drink bottle and make holes on it.

Step 2: Punch two holes into the caps and hang or plant the bottles next to the plants.

Thousands of pollinator species call this region home, including honeybees, bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and birds. As more soil is covered in concrete and we humans rely more heavily on pesticides, pollinators are struggling to find stable habitat and safe food sources.

How to make it:

Step 1: Choose a larger pot.

Step 2: Cover the drainage holes with a porous material.

Step 3: Layer soil in the new pot.

Step 4: Water the plant.

Step 5: Remove the plant from its old pot.

Step 6: Place the plant in its new pot.
